Inspiring the future

On January 24th in Milan took place the inauguration of the Cisco Cyber Security Co-innovation Center, at the presence of Mr Fiorenzo Galli, Director of the Museum of Science and Technology, some high personalities of the Italian State like the Minister for technological innovation Mrs Paola Pisano and last but not least, Mr Chuck Robbins, Cisco CEO.

Part of Digitaliani, a collaboration between Cisco and the Italian government born in 2006, the Cyber Security Co-innovation Center will be hosted for three years by the Museum of science and technology in Milan, working also as Cisco Networking Academy. A place where young people can come closer to their future job, and other can acquire new skills for a better professional growth. The Co-innovation Center’s challenge is to enhance the digital culture of the country, working with companies from different sectors, industry, the public sector and the world of university, to implement innovative projects creating an ecosystem of innovation to which we’re contributing with our know-how.

Placed in the main area of the Cyber Security Co-innovation Center, the V-App | Smart Integration Platform dashboard allows visitors to observe in real time the attendance data divided by time slots, age, gender and sentiment, plus, footprint heatmap, residence times, counting of mobile devices and other information collected from Cisco Meraki smart camera and access point, always anonymously. After the great interest aroused at the NRF2020 in New York City, also in Milan V-App catalyzed the interest of the many visitors and professionals affected by our work thanks also to our tireless Francesco Boscarino whom spent all day talking about what we do.

We wish to thank once again Cisco for having involved us in this new initiative, we hope to inspire new generations to take the path of new technologies in the future.

New York City of Retail

The NRF2020 is one of those events of which you understand the greatness only after you participated. Indeed, in those days your mind is busy dealing with tons of information coming from an incredible amount of stimulating people. During the days of NRF New York became the world capital not only of retail business but also of innovation, hosting the most brilliant and visionary minds in the world who with their passionate speeches inspired the huge public attending to the event.

As technology partners, we were guests at the Cisco booth where we had the opportunity to show the results of our work, such as the dashboards developed specifically for the retail industry. Four demo dashboards connected to Cisco Meraki Wi-Fi and MV Sense Camera and installed on the booth for the occasion, which allowed us showing live how easily you can get precious data to be used in innovative marketing strategies in the point of sale with our technological solution. Although we had not a single minute for shopping, as in any journey the baggage on the way back was heavier than on departure; ours in particular was full of new opportunities, contacts, the estimate of old and new friends and, above all, the awareness that the path we’ve taken few years ago is the right one.

Once again thanks to the friends of Cisco for this wonderful opportunity, to all those who have come to visit our installation asking for information, targeting questions or even just to say hello and staying with us just for a cup of coffee.

It’s time to start over.

First let us wish you a happy new year, we hope you have enjoyed holidays. This year and this decade starts great for us, from 12 to 14 January we’ll be at the NRF2020 in New York City alongside Cisco Meraki fellows colleagues.

The NRF Retail Week is the most important retail event in the world and the expectations for this year’s Big Show edition are really high, many will be the themes, projects and the news to come. The retail market is in excellent health and on the horizon there are large investments and innovations that will certainly change the retail universe forever, so we’re very exciting to join the event.

Talking about innovation, thinking inevitably goes to the IT business where the world’s largest retail groups are heavily investing money and human resources. Tech and digital are becoming day by day more pervasive in all areas of business and customer relations, adding new stages to the customer journey, and consequently stimulating the creativity of developers.

The NRF 2020 will give us a very big chance to show V-App Smart Integration Platform for the retail world, developed with Cisco Meraki. Visitors of our booth will see how Meraki Wi-Fi devices and MV Sense Camera can work together to collect customers’ behavior data in given areas, turning numbers in accurate, helpful and cool information.

Heatmap view people walk flows, dwell time and concentration peaks in a given area by time slot;

People Count tracks and count people access classifying them by gender and/or age;

Emotion measure the prevailing sentiment of the customers into your business range.

A real-time overview of the customers’ behavior, allows predictive analyzes to be carried out and, consequently, statistically forecasting future events, providing marketers with new tools to develop increasingly effective promotion strategies.
