Social Distancing Monitoring is the latest App developed for Meraki infrastructures equipped with Mv Sense Camera, it allows to monitor in real-time the distance between people in a given area, sending alerts when two or more people stand close less than one and a half meters to each other, for more than 30 seconds. Born from the idea of making a contribution to the fight against the spread of the Coronavirus, thanks to the contribution of our users, it is constantly updated and enriched with new functions, the last developed in order of time is “Live Mask Recognition”.

As we all know, the face mask is the first barrier against the virus, that’s why in most indoor places such as public buildings and shopping malls, wearing it is mandatory, and in other places, it’s highly recommended as well. However, unfortunately not everyone does wear the mask, for this reason, we have thought of a new feature that exploits object recognition capability to develop a new tool that respecting the privacy of people helps store managers to maintain high-security standards, identifying customers without the mask, in real-time, reporting them to the supervisor or sending automatically voice and or visual messages, inviting the given customer to wear it.

Many people around the world in last weeks have been forced to stay at home. Schools have canceled classes, retail stores, bars and other gathering places have shuttered. Major events were called off with a domino-like effect. These closures are all attempts to encourage social distancing, a crucially important public health intervention that can help stop transmission of the Covid-19 as argued from the major health authorities of the Countries involved in this, that seems to be the biggest global emergency, since the end of the WWII.

Although many commercial activities are stopped, those of vital importance are continuing to operate, such as production, some forms of consultancy but above all people must make supplies of food in safe conditions. Fortunately also in this case, the respectful and intelligent use of technology can be a formidable ally to help people to maintain an acceptable social distancing, thanks to non-invasive and privacy-friendly monitoring tools, like Social Distancing Monitoring. A new application for V-App Enterprise that thanks to the use of the Cisco Meraki smart cameras allow to monitor the distance between people in a given area, sending alerts when a so-called “collision” occurs, ie when two or more people are closer to each other than the suggested distance, also monitoring real-time people’s concentration with the help of interactive heat maps. A multi-channel alert system conveys alerts on the most popular instant messaging platforms such as Messenger, Webex, Telegram and WhatsApp, or through email, sms and screens or sound devices.

Time for change in V-App’s house. More services more powerful tools.

Hi everybody, so the big day has come!
Thanks to our prodigious team of developers, we are happy to unveil the latest version of the V-App Smart Integration Platform. The new V-App is the result of all our experience gained in past years as Cisco technology partner and as IT service providers in large companies and multinationals and at last but not least from the many feedback received from our users. It represents the first real big update of the platform since its debut years ago. Meeting amazing people

Here in V-App we are always very proud of the things we do, but taking part to the most important meeting reserved to the Cisco Meraki sales force, and so spending two days with the best sales team we ever meet, finally giving a face to the voices only listened so many times at the phone before, guys, it’s priceless!

Because this is what happened in the last two days at Cisco SKO | FY20 in London, where we’ve had the chance talk about the state of the art of V-App Smart Integration Platform project to the Cisco Meraki sales agents from all over the world in an exchange of pure energy and passion.

Inspiring the future

On January 24th in Milan took place the inauguration of the Cisco Cyber Security Co-innovation Center, at the presence of Mr Fiorenzo Galli, Director of the Museum of Science and Technology, some high personalities of the Italian State like the Minister for technological innovation Mrs Paola Pisano and last but not least, Mr Chuck Robbins, Cisco CEO.

Part of Digitaliani, a collaboration between Cisco and the Italian government born in 2006, the Cyber Security Co-innovation Center will be hosted for three years by the Museum of science and technology in Milan, working also as Cisco Networking Academy. A place where young people can come closer to their future job, and other can acquire new skills for a better professional growth. The Co-innovation Center’s challenge is to enhance the digital culture of the country, working with companies from different sectors, industry, the public sector and the world of university, to implement innovative projects creating an ecosystem of innovation to which we’re contributing with our know-how.

Placed in the main area of the Cyber Security Co-innovation Center, the V-App | Smart Integration Platform dashboard allows visitors to observe in real time the attendance data divided by time slots, age, gender and sentiment, plus, footprint heatmap, residence times, counting of mobile devices and other information collected from Cisco Meraki smart camera and access point, always anonymously. After the great interest aroused at the NRF2020 in New York City, also in Milan V-App catalyzed the interest of the many visitors and professionals affected by our work thanks also to our tireless Francesco Boscarino whom spent all day talking about what we do.

We wish to thank once again Cisco for having involved us in this new initiative, we hope to inspire new generations to take the path of new technologies in the future.

New York City of Retail

The NRF2020 is one of those events of which you understand the greatness only after you participated. Indeed, in those days your mind is busy dealing with tons of information coming from an incredible amount of stimulating people. During the days of NRF New York became the world capital not only of retail business but also of innovation, hosting the most brilliant and visionary minds in the world who with their passionate speeches inspired the huge public attending to the event.

As technology partners, we were guests at the Cisco booth where we had the opportunity to show the results of our work, such as the dashboards developed specifically for the retail industry. Four demo dashboards connected to Cisco Meraki Wi-Fi and MV Sense Camera and installed on the booth for the occasion, which allowed us showing live how easily you can get precious data to be used in innovative marketing strategies in the point of sale with our technological solution. Although we had not a single minute for shopping, as in any journey the baggage on the way back was heavier than on departure; ours in particular was full of new opportunities, contacts, the estimate of old and new friends and, above all, the awareness that the path we’ve taken few years ago is the right one.

Once again thanks to the friends of Cisco for this wonderful opportunity, to all those who have come to visit our installation asking for information, targeting questions or even just to say hello and staying with us just for a cup of coffee.

So, there we were.

Cisco Live! in San Diego is over. For the lucky ones to be there or for those who followed the event in streaming, it was an unique occasion to touch the state of the art of technology. Important people have intervened in illuminating speech and big companies have spoken in enthusiastic terms of their experience with Cisco. This edition of Cisco Live! was particularly exciting for us because there was talk of our work. On June 10th George Bentinck, the Cisco Meraki Product Manager, in a focus on the new smart cameras used as sensors in business environment, introducing hybrid systems, illustrated some slides related to VAPP, the portal developed by us with Cisco and dedicated to Meraki users. Being one of the two partners in that important context fills us with satisfaction and pushes us to make every day better.

So thanks to Cisco for the opportunity, and well done coders and network specialist of Bizmate, we’re proud of you all.

Two days between strawberries, coffee and pajamas

First of all let us say one thing: what a wonderful atmosphere in Naples!
Those two days spent alongside the students involved in the Hack.gov and friends of Cisco who sponsored the challenge, were so exciting and very demanding. We slept maybe five hours in two days, but we’re ready to do it again.

As a technology partner, Cisco asked us to do as mentor for a group of students participating at the Hackaton’s Challenge #4, to do it at our best, we sent in Naples Fabrizio Favitta and Daniele Invincibile from the Bizmate developers team and Cisco Marki APIs experts, who took about forty students coming from all over the world to face the challenge, under their wings.

Divided into six teams of five each, girls and boys have worked hard for 48 hours no stop designing and developing digital solutions, to improve the life of a hypothetical urban area of about five million people. Mobility, optimization of energy consumption, healthcare, reduction of pollution and poverty, thanks to IoT mobile applications and Wi-Fi networks, were the topics.

At the end of this grueling marathon made of strawberries, coffee, people coding in pajamas, the winner of the Cisco Challenge was the Italian-Hispanic-Brazilian team R-Easy (Academy + Cisco) composed by Lello, Marta, Fabrizio, Carlos and Vincenzo, with an idea based on Apple Swift Language service, running on Cisco hardware. A solution that encourages community members to recycle, thanks to the possibility of accumulating rewards through a coherently developed APP.

So, a big thank you Cisco for the honor of the assignment and thanks to the girs and boys of the Z generation who really impressed us with their passion for information technology, innovation and environmental and sustainability issues.
